As per a report by Bar and Bench, a three-judge Indian bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, hearing a plea by Mamata Banerjee against the Election Commission's decision to freeze the Trinamool Congress name and symbol, directed the Commission on September 28 to decide the dispute within three months rather than the six months it had sought, after both factions submit their pleadings within four weeks. Justice Bagchi suggested during the hearing that the Commission could use artificial intelligence tools to read through the large volume of affidavits filed in the case, to help it work through the material within the shortened timeframe.
