Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of TechPolicyLaw.org (the "Website"). By accessing or using the Website, a user agrees to be bound by these Terms. Users who do not agree with these Terms should discontinue use of the Website.

I. Nature of the Website

  1. TechPolicyLaw.org is a platform for publishing analysis, commentary and practitioner content on technology law and policy, with particular reference to India and comparative reference to other jurisdictions.

  2. Content on the Website is intended for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. No user should act or refrain from acting on the basis of any content on the Website without seeking advice from a qualified legal professional on the specific facts of their situation.
     

II. Content and Editorial Discretion

  1. Articles, analysis and commentary published on the Website reflect the views of the individual authors and do not necessarily represent the views of TechPolicyLaw.org, or any affiliated entity.

  2. TechPolicyLaw.org exercises sole editorial discretion over what is published, including the right to edit, decline, remove or amend any content, whether contributed by third parties or prepared internally.

  3. TechPolicyLaw.org makes reasonable efforts to ensure content is accurate as of its date of publication. Laws, regulations and their interpretation change over time, and content may not reflect subsequent developments unless expressly updated.
     

III. Contributor Submissions

  1. By submitting a piece for publication, a contributor represents that the submission is their own original work, has not been substantially generated by AI tools without independent review, and does not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.

  2. By submitting a piece, a contributor grants TechPolicyLaw.org the right to publish, edit and distribute the piece on the Website and in connection with its promotion. Contributors retain the right to republish their own work elsewhere, provided clear attribution is given to TechPolicyLaw.org with a link to the original publication.

  3. Contributors are responsible for disclosing any conflict of interest, affiliation or funding relationship relevant to the subject of their submission.

  4. TechPolicyLaw.org does not compensate contributors for submissions unless otherwise agreed in writing.


IV. Intellectual Property

  1. All content on the Website, including text, graphics, logos and design elements, is the property of TechPolicyLaw.org or its contributors and licensors, except where otherwise indicated.

  2. Users may share links to content on the Website and may quote brief excerpts with proper attribution, consistent with fair use or fair dealing principles under applicable law. Reproduction of substantial portions of any article without prior written permission is not permitted.

  3. Any trademarks, logos or brand features appearing on the Website may not be used without prior written consent.


V. User Conduct
Users agree not to do any of the following in connection with the Website.

  1. Submit content that is defamatory, unlawful, infringing or that violates the rights of any third party.

  2. Use the Website to distribute malware, engage in unauthorised data scraping, or interfere with the security or normal operation of the Website.

  3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.


VIII. Privacy
Use of the Website is also governed by the Website's Privacy Policy, which describes how personal data submitted through the Website, including in connection with contributions, is collected and used.

IX. Changes to These Terms
TechPolicyLaw.org may revise these Terms at any time. The revised Terms will take effect upon publication on the Website, and continued use of the Website following such publication constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

X. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India.
