As per a report by LiveLawBiz, the Delhi High Court issued notice on a contempt application filed by Zee Entertainment against JioStar India, after Zee accused the broadcaster of "wilful disobedience" of a May 2026 injunction barring it from using Zee's copyrighted sound recordings. The dispute traces back to licences from 2017 and 2020 that let JioStar use Zee's music catalogue across its television serials and OTT content; those licences expired on October 31, 2025. In its contempt filing, dated September 21, Zee cited six specific instances between May and July where it said JioStar's programmes continued to use its copyrighted works without authorisation.

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani cautioned JioStar against any further non-compliance with the injunction, and directed Zee to hand over a specific list of the works it says are still being used so they can be verified and taken down. The matter is listed for further hearing on December 8, with an interim appearance before the Joint Registrar on November 17.
