EU KIDS Act: Commission proposal on children's access to social media, games and AI chatbots
The European Commission adopted the EU KIDS Act proposal on September 17. Children under 13 would be barred from social media, those aged 13 to under 15 would use parent-managed mini accounts with a one hour daily limit, and social media and video platforms would have to verify age when accounts open. Parliament and the Council must now examine it.
